Studio Calico October Kits: Atiquary

HEY!

Are you guys so excited about the Antiquary kits from Studio Calico!? They're AVAILABLE NOW- run over to the shop and check em out!

Today, I'm sharing some cards that I made with the Antiquary Card Kit and the Athens Card Add-on!

LOVE these fun leaves (Antiquary Thankful Cut Designs) that Shanna created for us this month! I kept it simple and let those fun shapes shine!

I cut out the shape using my Silhouette Cameo and also created a white background to really make them pop!

The sentiment and leaves are from the Antiquary Card Kit!

Oh my.... I'm having so much fun with these coordinating dies! On this card, I used the Harvest Moon dies to create a background for my card- focusing on the negative space the dies leave behind. I cut a bunch of leaves out of a sheet of kraft cardstock and then layered patterned paper behind each cut-out.

LOVE the fall, warm feel of this card! The glittery gold dots just topped it off!

Playing with those fun dies again! This time, I used the die cuts to make a background for my card! I simply cut out a bunch of the leaf shapes, inked around the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and my Ink Blender tool, and then glued them to a sheet of kraft cardstock.

The sentiment, ribbon, and patterned paper are all from the gorgeous Card Kit!

I had a little time to play around with the Athens Card Add-on this month, too! LOVE that there are coordinating dies to go with these beautiful stamps- the dies are called Boxwood Garden...

I stamped and cut out the leaf and flower image first, coloring them with Copics. Then, to make the sentiment really stand out, I cut the frame out of the kraft cardstock and stamped my sentiment inside.

I love the design of that sweet floral stamp, so I stamped it repeatedly on the kraft cardstock in gold ink to really let it shine!

Hey : Thataway

Hey!

How's it going? I'm winding down tonight from a very busy week! I started my student teaching last week in a fifth grade classroom and I come home PRETTY tired each day! If you're wondering where I am.... I'm either at school or in my bed! Haha!

I thought I'd pop in tonight and share a quick card with you! I made this one with some fun new stuff from the Studio Calico Thataway collection!

LOVE the colors in this collection- lots of pretty yellows, teals, and pinks! On this card I used a sheet of 12x12 paper (it's called Roundabouts) and some fun papers from the 6x6 pad, too!

I am having SO much fun with these Stitched Pockets! I simply slipped in a sheet of white cardstock with the word "HEY" spelled out with Chalkboard Stickers.

The little sentiments on the side are super cute.... I had a lot of fun with them! There's a sheet of paper in the 6x6 pad full of these fun sayings- I cut out the ones I liked and adhered them with foam tape!

Thanks so much for stopping by! See ya soon!

Here are the cards:

LOTS of stamping happened this month- and lots of GOLD, too! These stamps (from the Double Scoop Card Kit) are so sophisticated and modern- love the versatility!

I randomly stamped some circle elements around the card, stamping the large spirograph image where I wanted a sentiment.

I layered the fun vellum tape strip (from the Double Scoop PL kit) and the sentiment (from the Double Scoop Card Kit).

I finished it off by adding some woodgrain sequins accents!

Oh I love this floral paper (from the Double Scoop Scrapbook Kit) and I placed it front and center on this card!

The sentiment "j'aime" is from the Double Scoop Card Kit- I just love that clean, modern font!

Love. That's how I feel about this card. Haha! Simple and elegant with the help of this beautiful gold doily (from the Double Scoop Scrapbook Kit) and the big, bold stamps (from the Bubblegum Card Add-on Kit).

The enamel dots and cabochon are from the Double Scoop Card Kit!

Studio Calico September Kits: Double Scoop

Hi!

How's everyone doing? We've had a CRAZY busy week around here, but I wanted to pop in and share a few cards that I created with the new Double Scoop kits from Studio Calico!

The Studio Calico September Kits are AVAILABLE NOW and you don't want to miss them! They are filled with beautiful, brand new products- just the perfect thing to spark your creativity!

Here are some cards I've made:

I fell in LOVE with this beautiful frame paper and knew right away that I wanted it to play a big part on a card! I hand cut a few of the frames, chose some fun patterns to sit inside the frames, and added some fun stamp accents! Easy and FUN!

All of the papers and stamps used on this card are from the Double Scoop Card Kit!

The stamps in the Bubblegum Card Add-on are absolutely PERFECT! I had so much stamping and creating this card!

I stamped the different floral elements with various Hero Arts inks (linked in my gallery!), cut them out, and arranged them around the circle cut out. I adhered them with foam tape for dimension.

I LOVE the gold doilies (from the Double Scoop Scrapbook Kit) and used one here on this card as an accent!

I stamped the banner with the spirograph image from the Bubblegum Card Add-on Kit and then colored the negative space with Copic markers. I went over the coloring with a colorless blender pen to create a watercolor look.

You know I love playing around with the different digital items that are available each month- this month is no different! I *adore* the Back to School Cut Designs by Shanna Noel and knew I wanted to make something special for my boys for the first day of school!

I started by creating a fun pattern with the .png files in PSE- this sweet little apple needed to be showcased! I added that pattern to the Double Scoop digital template by Catherine Davis, made a few changes to the colors in the template, and printed a couple out!

Then, I cut the "gold star" sentiment with my Cameo. Before taking it off of the mat, I inked over the white cardstock with gold ink to make it shimmer! Love the way it turned out!

All of the supplies I used for these cards are available at Studio Calico right now! And, you can always check my GALLERY for detailed supply lists!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a few more cards to share!

Project Life : Myrtle Beach

  Hiya!

Did you all have a great weekend? We did! We're really trying to pack as much summer fun in as we can before school starts back up. Speaking of summer fun- I have a little something to share with you from a trip we took in the spring to Myrtle Beach!

Naturally, I pulled out the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection to help me make this layout fun and beautiful! I didn't have many photos from the trip (tried to stay in the moment- no big heavy camera to carry around), but I got a couple of great ones with my phone!

I LOVE these stars and it really pained me to use so many of them... lol! BUT, I love how it looks. So sparkly and fun!

I also added a few die cuts that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo- these are Atlantic Circle Digital Cut Designs and also Atlantic Sail With Me Digital Cut Designs.

What a cute little boat, right? Love it. And that Atlantic 12x12 Vellum is so pretty as the sail. Love this card.

For the journaling, I cut a sheet of paper from the Atlantic Collection (Rockport) and then printed my journaling onto the cards. I did this by creating a 3x4 template in PSE, typing in my journaling, printing the journaling on regular white paper, taping the journaling card over where the type printed, and printing again. That helps me get the perfect positioning when printing on these pieces of patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our trip!

Here are a few of the plates that will be available- there are a ton of designs, but these are some that I'm definitely picking up!

This design by Shanna Noel was VERY popular in the Molly Add-on Kit and is making an appearance again as a Letterpress Plate! Can't wait to see the beautiful impressions these designs make!

This is another one of my absolute favorites- it could be because I had a hand in creating it! I came up with the words (they can be mixed and matched to create 30+ sentiments!) and Marcy Penner designed them! I think they're absolutely perfect for card makers- so many possibilities!

Studio Calico August Kits: Marks & Co

  Hey!

I'm here with some fun stuff for you today!

The Studio Calico August kits are AVAILABLE NOW and you don't want to miss them! They are filled with beautiful, brand new product- lots of stuff that isn't even available in stores yet! How awesome is THAT!?

All of the kits are available now and you can take a look and purchase them HERE.

How about a look at the projects I made this month?

Love this big banner sentiment stamp from the Marks & Co Card Kit and I knew I wanted to make it a focal point on a card! I hand-cut banners and layered them in a row to create a fun pattern!

This milk bottle stamp (from the Marks & Co Card Kit) is SO MUCH FUN and there are so many ways to use it! For this card, I stamped the milk bottle on white cardstock and created a watercolor look by blending light blue and light green Copic markers. I adhered it to a sheet of kraft cardstock and sprayed it with Shine- love the sparkle!

I knew I wanted to put daisies in the bottle, but I also wanted them to vary in size. I decided to use the Card Digital Stamps to print three different size daisies! I colored the centers of the flowers and adhered them with foam tape, hand drawing stems with a black pen.

The fun blue/green patterned paper is from the Fitzgerald Card Add-on!

Oh how I love this little fawn (from the Salinger Add-on)! SO CUTE! I knew I wanted to keep the card clean and simple and let that pretty face shine!

I created the frame by taping the patterned papers to a sheet of copy paper and cutting the frame with my Cameo. Fun little trick to use up your scraps, too!

And how cool is that arrow! I'm such a sucker for glitter and these arrows are definitely going in the hoard drawer! Haha!

I fell head over heels for this awesome star paper from Fancy Pants! I paired it with the star cork shapes (both are in the Salinger Add-on!) and I knew it was a match made in heaven!

I added some Gold Mister Huey's and this amazing sentiment (from the Marks & Co Project Life kit) to finish it up!

I love the Amy Tan Embroidery Kit that comes in the Marks & Co Scrapbook Kit this month! Such a fun embellishment to include in the kit! I stitched the large ampersand using the template and some gold thread on a piece of patterned paper from the Fitzgerald Card Add-on.

Then, I stamped a bunch of ink splatters and stars from the Marks & Co Card Kit stamps on my card front using a mix of navy, gray, and gold inks.

I adhered the ampersand with foam tape and tucked the "many" and "thanks" sentiments in beside it. Those are from the Fitzgerald Card Add-on!

I love getting a head start on my projects by working with some of the digital files before my actual kits come in the mail! This month, I had a bunch of fun playing with the digital stamps- there are some GREAT ink splatters and hand drawn elements that are so fun to mix and match!

I started by stamping out a bunch of splatters and stars from the Card Digital Stamps and Scrapbook Digital Stamps. Then, I opened the fun Marks & Co Digital Template! I cut and pasted one of the pie charts over a blank white circle I added to the splatter file. Then I copied over the sentiment! Easy peasy and so much fun!

When I make a card like this, I normally make two at a time- easy to print on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of photo or presentation paper and I have two cards ready at the same time!

To finish it off, I added some sequins from the Marks & Co Project Life Kit!

As always, you can find FULL supply lists in my GALLERY!
And.... you can go pick up some of these awesome kits HERE!

I hope you love my projects this month!
