Studio Calico Poet Society Reveal!

  Hi!

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far! I'm relaxing at home and it feels so good after a really long first week of school!

I'm here today with a card I made with supplies from the new Studio Calico Poet Society Kits! They're available now! You can see all the kits HERE.

One of my absolute favorite things from these kits is the Back to School Stamp Set Card Add-on! It was designed by Suzy Plantamura and it's just SO PERFECT! If your little one needs a little encouragement at back to school time- this is just what you need!

How CUTE, right!? I love it!

When I saw that long script alphabet, I knew I wanted to create a background with it! Here's a peek at how I stamped my background:

1. Get a nice, big block and place the stamp. Ink it up- I used Versafine Onyx Black (it's my favorite!).

2. Stamp! I placed a piece of white copy paper under my card base so the excess stamp wouldn't stamp my table.

3. Repeat stamping all the way down the front of the card. I moved the stamp around to make sure that all the letters of the alphabet made it onto my card.

4. Embellish. When I was finished stamping my background, I added some patterned paper from the Poet Society Card Kit and a stamped a colored image from the Back to School Stamp Set!

Love the way it came out and it will be perfect to throw into Aden or Austin's lunchbox!

Stop by Studio Calico to see all of the kits- they're really awesome!

Studio Calico Photos and Words

  Hi!

So sorry for the lack of blog presence this month!

I am very eager to start my new teaching career (6th grade, here I come!) and I've been in trainings and meetings and conferences and my classroom for the past 3 weeks. Time has flown by and I haven't checked in on my blog for awhile! We start school on Monday- wish me luck!

I wanted to stop by today to share some information about two really great classes being offered by Studio Calico! If you are a scrapbooker, you know that the most important part of what we do is the documentation! We need PHOTOS and we need WORDS. We want our creations to tell the story of our families.

Studio Calico has found a way to help us in those two very special areas!

The first is called SNAPHOT- join April Foster in shooting a photo a day in September and learn to capture all of the little details that add up to your favorite memories.

The second is called PEN & PAPER- join Laura Kurz and take your layouts to the next level by seeing how you can use words to truly make a page. From journaling prompts to interviewing your loved ones, this class will explore many different ways of looking at life to tell your story.

They've even made it super simple for you to enroll in BOTH! You can find the Photos + Words Bundle HERE!

I'm really excited for these classes- I know you will love them, too!

Check them out!

I'll be back in just a couple of days with my sneaks from the Poet Society kits! See ya then!

Studio Calico Teachers Pet Stamp + Die Set!

  Hi!

It's been a busy week! I've started this exciting, overwhelming new phase in my life as a 6th grade teacher and I've been been TIRED! Haha!

I wanted to stop by tonight and share some more of my Studio Calico projects from this month!
I fell in LOVE with the Teachers Pet Stamp + Die Set (for obvious reasons!) and used it a couple of times already!

This set is still available- I encourage you to check it out!

Here's what I made with this set:

I whipped up a quick thank you card to have on hand! I love slipping these into Aden and Austin's folders to give a little pick-me-up to their teachers!

On this one, I stamped the pencils directly onto this fun sheet of patterned paper and colored the pencils with Copics. Then, I stamped the banner, cut it out, and attached it with foam tape.

So fun!

This set is SO versatile, too! I pulled it out again when creating this Project Life spread!

I am in love with Martha Bonneau's Project Life style... so simple and cool and awesome. I took some inspiration from her to create this spread! Check out her Project Life page HERE and her full gallery HERE!

I used the stamps very simply to help accent my title card! Love how easy and fun it was to add these special touches!

I also used the dies to add this embellishment to the page!

Like I said, this is a very versatile set- and it was one of my favorite things in my package this month! I think you'll love it, too!

You can check it out HERE!
