Quick and Easy Cupcake Toppers!

  Hey!

So the cute stamps in the Studio Calico Ciao Card Add-on Kit have really gotten a lot of use around here lately! When I saw these adorable stamps, I knew they'd be perfect for baby cards and kid birthday cards, but they're also great for party decor! Today, I'm going to show you how I made these super easy cupcake toppers that would be perfect for a baby shower or baby birthday party!

How cute are these little guys!? They perfectly dress up inexpensive grocery store cupcakes!

Here's how I made them:

1. Gather supplies
For this project, I used the Ciao Card Kit, the Animal Dies, Color Theory ink (Something Blue, Emerald City, and Orange County), double sided tape, and toothpicks.

2. Die cut
I used my Cuttlebug and the Animal Dies to create a bunch of fun die cut shapes. I cut out a bunch really quickly!

3. Cut a bunch
Make sure to cut two for each cupcake you have.

4. Stamp
Ink up your stamp and stamp your image on the die cut! I love how easy it is to create perfectly cut images with these coordinating dies!

5. Stamp a bunch
Stamp on enough die cuts to top all our your cupcakes. It might take you a couple tries to line up the stamps perfectly.

6. Adhere toothpick in place
Grab a plain white die cut shape and cover it with double sided tape. Lay the toothpick in the center and cover with your stamped die cut shape. Press to adhere.

7. Repeat
Repeat this for each of the cupcakes.

8. Place in cupcake
Place the toothpicks in the cupcakes!

How cute!? They give these mini cupcakes a fun decorative touch!

Like I said, they just keep getting better! I couldn't believe the amount of STUFF in this kit! Cardstock, a 6x6 paper pad, stamps, dies!, buttons, tags, gems, twine, felt, cork!! This kit is packed! And I love every single thing in it- so awesome....

Here are some cards I made with the kit.

I fell in LOVE with that woodgrain paper from the kit and knew I wanted to make it stand out on my card! I layered it with this awesome Ampersand Cut File by Paige Evans! Love this cut! I couldn't resist that pretty felt in the kit so I used the die to cut some fun shapes and layered them down the front of the card.

Here's that awesome cut file!

And I LOVE the bright colors in this kit, so I had to bring em out! I layered some fun papers from the 6x6 pad and simply stamped some of the flowers from the stamp set to create a focal image. Tied a button with the twine from the kit to finish it off!

Thank you so much for checking out my projects! Don't miss this amazing kit- it's one of my absolute favorites in a long time!

National Scrapbook Day- SC Challenge #5!

  Having fun yet?!

I am!

I'm back with another challenge- I'm playing along at Studio Calico today!
You can check out all of the fabulous challenges HERE!

The next challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE!

Here's the card sketch for the challenge, based on THIS card by the amazing Carissa Wiley!

Here's my take on the sketch:

This sketch is so fun! I used it as inspiration for this card that I created using the Camelot Card Kit. Along the diagonal section, I stamped some floral images to peek out under the die cut scalloped circle. I stamped the flowers off on scrap paper before stamping them on the card to achieve a softer look. I also stamped some flowers and hand cut them to use as accents around the scalloped circle element.

You can view the full supply list for this card in my GALLERY!

We'll be chatting at Studio Calico at 7PM EDT! I hope to see you there!

Now time for a CARD! The first challenge I'm playing along with today is the Challenge #4: Create your own patterned paper with repetitious use of stamps.

I love using stamps to create my own patterns for cards! I'm always looking for flat cards and using stamps is a great way to add interest without the bulk! I used the floral stamps from the Morgan Card Kit and some pretty Color Theory inks and stamped repeatedly in different colors to create a pattern. SO fun!

You can see a full supply list in my gallery HERE!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back at 6 with another challenge project!
