some watercolor love...

  Hi!

I don't know about you guys, but I've been cooped up in the house the past couple of days with some winter weather! We don't get a lot of that down here in NC, so I'm definitely not used to all these snow days! I've been a bit stir crazy....

Today, I broke out the watercolors and played around a bit to break the boredom! Here's what I made...

I used my Peerless Transparent Watercolor Papers (specifically Cobalt Blue, Natural Tint, and Amethyst) and a Water Brush to create a fun "cloud" on my card front. I also added some fun splatters and specks around. Then, I stamped the sentiment and kite strings with the stamp set from the Sugar Rush Card Kit. I die cut some kites and bows using the coordinating Craft Die: Kids at Play.

LOVE the fun watercolor look of this card- and those watercolors are so vibrant and fun!

Thank you so much for coming by! I hope you'll pull out your paints and give this technique a try!

Altering Wood Veneer + Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life Kit

  Hi!

I had a lot of fun this month playing with the Studio Calico Sugar Rush kits! Today I'm going to share how I used the fun wood veneer shapes in the Sugar Rush Project Life kit.

I know we all have piles of wood veneer laying around! They're so fun to use in Project Life and on cards! And the natural wood color is perfect to use as it is! But sometimes it's fun to mix it up and alter them to coordinate with the other products you're using.

Here are some fun ways you can alter the wood veneer shapes:

1. Color them with markers! I had a lot of fun coloring the wood veneer with my Copic markers, blending the ink to create a fun ombre effect.

2. Mist them! Place a few shapes into an empty box and mist them with your favorite Mister Huey's colors!

3. Heat emboss them! Push the wood veneer onto a Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad, sprinkle the shape with embossing powder, and heat set with an embossing heat tool. It turns out really cool! I used gold embossing powder and the results look almost like gold foil!

Here are some examples of how I used the altered wood veneer on my Project Life page:

You can see the colored wood veneer in the two photos of my boys- I used coral reds and aquas to really make these accents match the papers I used. I also heat embossed some of the pieces to add a little bit of gold to my page!

Give it a try! You'll love all the possibilities you have when you think outside the box!

Studio Calico Taffy Card Kit!

  Hey!

Have you guys seen the amazing Taffy card add on kit this month! Believe it or not, it's STILL AVAILABLE in the shop (click HERE)! That doesn't happen often! You should definitely check it out!

http://tinyurl.com/me5pxuc

I am IN LOVE with the stamp set in this kit! It's a beautiful set by Mama Elephant and even has a coordinating DIE SET!

http://tinyurl.com/kamd4mh

So I wanted to share a card that I made with some of the elements of this kit- specifically the gold punchinella vellum that's included and the digital stamp brushes that I used!

http://tinyurl.com/me5pxuc

I used the digital stamp brushes to really make this sentiment (that's also in the stamp set) shine! I made it quite a bit larger and printed it out on white cardstock. I colored the letters with Copic markers!

For the vellum, I randomly cut shapes out along the gold lines and adhered them with some vellum adhesive that I found in my adhesive drawer! LOL! I haven't used it in a long time, but it definitely worked a lot better than regular tape!

And now I'm sure you have that wonderful One Direction song in your head for the rest of the night!Ha!

So make sure you run over and check out this kit! I guarantee it won't be available for long!

I also used the digital items (specifically the digital stamp brushes) on my Project Life layouts this month! For this layout, I created a fun 4x6 card by combining the digital stamps from the Sugar Rush Card Kit Digital Stamps, Sugar Rush Scrapbook Kit Digital Stamps, and Sugar Rush Lili Niclass Exclusive Digital Stamps. I LOVED that sentiment and definitely wanted to give it a front and center place on this page!

Winnie & Walter LOVE

  Hi!

I am SO excited to share some projects with you today from the new stamp company, Winnie & Walter! I have had so much fun working with these awesome stamps! They are absolutely beautiful and fun and creative.

You can check out their BLOG for the debut of each stamp set throughout the week and awesome projects by "The Talent" (their awesome design team!) and "Guest Stars" (like me!). Trust me, you're going to want these amazing stamps!

There are four stamp sets being released this month (on January 15th)- here are the cards I created with these stamps!

Ok, folks.... some of my favorites here! A lovely, big, bold script font from the amazing set called The Big, The Bold, and the Happy. LOVE this set- lots of mix and match sentiments and they're just perfect. The gray confetti dots are from the equally awesome set called Scenery: Big Bang Confetti. AMAZING, folks. You need it! And that fun notebook heart is from the set called The Write Stuff: Love Story.

I kept it simple with this one and used some of the new really cool cut files! I started by stamping the hearts (from The Write Stuff: Love Story) on kraft cardstock. I cut out the cut file from The Write Stuff: Love Story cut files with my Cameo and adhered it over the stamped background.
I added some buttons, a sentiment, and some twine and it was finished!

Oh I love the fonts in these sets! This sentiment, the postage note image, and the pretty bird are from the You've Got Love Mail set! This set is so awesome- jam packed with great images and sentiments for Valentine's Day! I added some more confetti from the Scenery: Big Bang Confetti set and the super cute ticket is from The Write Stuff: Love Story.

Speaking of that super cute ticket image from The Write Stuff: Love Story, I thought I'd make it really stand out on this card! I started by stamping the sentiment (from You've Got Love Mail) and then I stamped the ticket repeatedly to cover the card! Love how this one turned out- I think it's super cute!

I hope you'll stop by the Winnie & Walter blog and website to check out these awesome stamps!
