I Know... More Doilies???

Hello everyone! How are you all doing today?

I had a very little bit of free time this afternoon thanks to some very cranky baby boys that were having a hard time taking a nap, but I did have just enough time to play along with the newest challenge over at The Play Date Cafe! I fell head over heals in love with this color combo when I saw it this morning and couldn't wait to play along! AND, my card for last week's challenge was chosen as one of the Cream in our Coffee! WOO HOO!

Here's the challenge:

And here's my card:

I know, I know.... I've been using PTI's Delightful Doilies set A LOT lately... haha! I can't help it- it's super fun! Today I paired it with Market Street Stamps Sweet Lace background set- LOVE combining sets from different companies and exploring- it's part of the fun of stamping! I also stamped PTI's Background Basics: Text Styles over the doily image with Chamomile ink from the PTI Tea Dye Duo.

Love the way this one turned out- very soft, but still bold enough to be interesting!

Thanks for stopping by today- I've got a lot of work going on behind the scenes getting ready for the BIG Market Street Stamps Design Team announcement! Make sure to tune in to the Market Street Stamps blog on Tuesday for the big reveal and LOTS of prizes! YAY!

Gone Campin' with the Play Date Cafe Challenge!

Hi, everyone! Nice to see you tonight!

Last night, while staring blankly at my craft desk and wondering where to start, I decided to take a little break and cruise Facebook for a minute. So glad I did! My dear friend Julie Day had just posted that she had recieved some new Market Street Stamps goodies in the mail and was getting ready to get inky! I saw that as an opportunity for some inspiration and asked her what she got! She said she was super excited to break into her Gone Campin' set so I decided to play with my Gone Campin' set, too! Paired that with the Play Date Cafe Challenge and the Clean and Simple Sketch for this week and I had a pretty straight forward plan! Perfect for breaking through the lack of creative motivation!

Here's the Clean and Simple Stamping Sketch (#150)

And the Play Date Cafe Challenge:

And here's my card:

Oooohhh... I think I like it!

I used some Making Memories patterned paper for the background and added a little Summer Sunrise satin ribbon (all ruffled up) to accent the focal image and add a pop of color. I have to say that Summer Sunrise is one of my favorite colors, especially for a big POP against neutrals! Colored the campfire with Copics.

I think this card might make even the fanciest ladies wanna sit around a campfire! Love adding some elegance to something generally associated with getting dirty... lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!

How about a scrapbook layout?

Hi! I thought I'd share a little something I've been working on lately. As some of you know, I am a HUGE supporter of Digital Project Life- it's super easy, takes a lot of the "stress" away about keeping up with scrapbooking, and I LOVE the designs. But every now and then I get the scrapbooking itch and then I run to Archiver's and spend a ton of money on open stock 12 X 12 paper and a couple of collections, get them home, let them sit on my desk for a few months and then use finally use them.... haha! I'm trying very hard to get out of this vicious cycle and here's how I started:

Wow- it's been a while, but I think it's a little like riding a bike. This is my little man, Austin James, he's quite the character and a funny face expert. He makes me laugh every single day and I think I captured a little bit of that here.

Last time I was at Archiver's (ehem... 2 months ago...) I picked up some of this sweet Jillibean Soup paper from the open stock- it's from the Soup's Staples collection and it's called Gray Sugar. LOVE it. Could have bought this pattern in every color they have... lol!

I also used some of the fun stuff I found in my Little Boy collection from Echo Park. I bought the whole collection and I definitely think it's one of those collections that I'll turn to again and again- I DO have 2 little boys.... it's PERFECT!

I pulled out some fun Waltzingmouse Stamps for this layout, too! I recently won a stamp set over on the Waltzingmouse FB page and it took me a LONG time to decide on which stamp set I wanted! They have beautiful stamps and I'm so glad I finally got to try them out! Not only are they beautiful, but they are exceptionally good quality and they shipped super fast! Can't beat that! The rocket ship and the sentiments are from the Half Pint Heroes set!

A close up of my silly boy...

He's a little crazy...

Super cute stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps! Colored with Copics!

I hope you enjoyed seeing something a little different on the blog-o today! Expect more scrapbook layouts in the near future- everytime Eric goes away I get a little crazy about memory recording!

Oh yeah- I put it out there on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ but I thought I'd ask here, too! I'm SUPER interested in these scrapbook kit clubs I keep hearing about (Studio Calico, Scarlet Lime, Paper Posies, The Scrapbook Nook to name a few...) and while I'd love to order from each and compare- I'm not rich... haha! Which kit do you use and what do you love about it? I'd love to know!!

Thanks! See you again very soon!

MSS Sketch Challenge Time!

Hi! I hope you are all having a great week! It's time for a new sketch challenge from Market Street Stamps! Make sure you head over to the MSS blog and check it out- there's a fabby prize to be won!

Here's the challenge:

And here's my card:

I've been super inspired by all the great cardmakers I've been working with lately (more information on *that* to come very soon!!) and so I was inspired to use this great sentiment from the Hippie Chic stamp set. I accented the sentiment with some scrap patterned paper I had sitting around and then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the PTI Fillable Frames #4 die.

I heat embossed the beautiful Vintage Wallpaper background stamp with white embossing powder on Soft Stone cardstock. LOVE the look of bright white and gray- just beautiful. Added some pretty Plum Pudding satin ribbon and this gorgeous Maya Road Organza Roses ribbon to finish it off!

Hope you're all inspired by the sketch this month! Run over and take a look at the other beautiful samples created by some of our Design Team members!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thinking About the Tuesday Trigger!

Hi, everyone! Before I share today's card, let me just say a BIG thank you to all of you who leave such sweet comments for me! You gals make me smile each and every day! I thought that I would play along with the Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World today- I had an hour to kill while the boys (and hubby....) took a nap and was super inspired by this photo:

Here's my card:

Obviously, I was inspired by the super sweet color palette showcased in the photo. The buttery yellow, soft pink, and sage green peaked my interest and I started there! I adhered the three colors (PTI Lemon Tart, Sweet Blush, and Spring Moss) together and then cut the panel to a size I liked. Then, I used PTI's Delightful Doilies set to stamp this striking black doily image in the corner of the panel. The sentiment "Thinking of You" is from this past years anniversary set from PTI called Botanical Silhouettes. I adhered the panel to the Rustic Cream cardbase and scored a double line above and below the panel.

This one is going out in the mail today to my Grandmother who is battling a lot of pain right now. After losing her mother just a couple of weeks ago, she also lost her sister this week. I'm hoping that receiving this card in the mail will help her to know that I'm thinking of her and praying that her pain subsides with time. Missing my Great-Grandmom, missing my Aunt Sandy, and worried terribly about my MomMom and how she's feeling. Sometimes I really hate living so far from home.

Thanks again for all your kind words and support and thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my work! It means THE WORLD to me. See you again soon!

CAS-ual shaped card!

HI! I'm officially back from vacation and I'm ready to dive into some challenges and get back to creating! First up is the CAS-ual Friday's challenge this week- here it is:

Super fun and I LOVE me some Paper Smooches so I thought I'd play along! Here's my card:

Love me some cupcakes and since I'm trying really hard to do well on my diet, I'll just make a paper one... haha! I cut the base with Smokey Shadow cardstock and scored lines to make it look like a cupcake liner. Then, I hand cut the cupcake from PTI Distressed Dots patterned paper. Added a Pure Poppy "cherry" on top with a sweet bow (Charcoal twine from The Twinery) for good measure!

The sentiment is from PTI's Birthday Bash Sentiments and is accented with a Pure Poppy scalloped border and some more twine!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week! I'll be back soon with some more new projects!

Livin' Easy This Summer....

Hi! I'm back today with a card that perfectly describes my summer! HAHA!

Angelica (the co-owner of Market Street Stamps) pretty much hit the nail on the head on the Market Street Stamps blog Tuesday when she was describing how summer kind of sweeps you away sometimes and doesn't leave very much time for crafty stuff! I have literally been swept away for the past month visiting family and spending some much needed quality time with my hubby before school starts and my husband leaves for a deployment. My craft "space" has definitely been neglected lately!

I did grab some time last week to whip up a few cards and I was seriously in summertime mode! I pulled out my Chillaxin set and went to town! I LOVE the sweet images and sentiments in this set and showcased them here in this fun card!

I had a blast coloring that super sweet palm tree! I paired it with some patterned paper "sand" (Distressed Dots from PTI) and a splash of bright color (some Summer Sunrise satin ribbon)! I love to add just a bit of brightness to a card that has a lot of earthy colors- it's one of my favorite ways to play with color!

Stay tuned to the Market Street Stamps blog for more Senior DT announcements throughout the month of July! The next announcement will come on Tuesday night!

And don't forget to apply to be on our new Design Team! Click HERE for more information about the call! Today's the last day to get your application in!

Letting My Heart Be My Guide....

Hi, everyone!

Feeling very grateful lately for all of the love I'm feeling from my Market Street Stamps family.... I'm very excited about continuing as a Senior DT member and also the DT Coordinator!

That being said, I have a card to share with you today that pretty much sums it up for me....

This sentiment definitely hits home for me. I follow my heart a lot and if my hearts not in it, neither am I. Taking on a more demanding role with Market Street Stamps is one of those things that makes my heart feel happy. I'm surrounded by positive, productive, and genuine people and working with Market Street Stamps makes me a better papercrafter and a better person in general. Thanks again for this amazing opportunity.

This card was made with the new stamp set, Compass. I stamped the compass image with Versamark ink on Ripe Avacado cardstock repeatedly to create my own patterned paper. Then, I cut the paper in different widths and adhered the strips to the cardbase. I stamped the compass and sentiment on a white cardstock layer and adhered it with foam adhesive. Finished it off with some black rhinestones!

Very clean and simple -- very ME.

Thanks again for all your support over the past few months- it's been so great getting to know each and every one of you and I can't wait to see what this next term brings for Market Street Stamps!

Check back tomorrow for a card I made with some of my favorite summertime stamps!
