So... here are some scrapbook layouts that I have made with the newest kit!

This one is near and dear to my heart! It documents the reunion of my boys with their Daddy- just happened a little over a week ago and I'm very happy to have recorded the feeling of it all here on this layout! Waiting for that plane to land after waiting SO LONG for him to come home brings on so much anxiety and nerves- I wanted to make sure we remember that feeling even after years and years have passed.

Nothing beats that sense of relief when you finally find your loved one in the crowd of people searching... it's something you can never possibly forget...

The journaling reads: waiting... It felt like we had already been waiting for such a very long time, but that last 15 minutes is always a different kind of waiting! It's so close- no one can stand still- the anxiety takes over. Mom can't stop talking, AJ has to pee, Aden stands in silence... watching... waiting... The plane is right there and it seems like forever before they let you come off. The doors open and the crowd stirs. People begin to find their loved ones. We frantically search, we find you, and nothing else matters... you're HOME.

Nothing else matters. Period.

I kept the layout very simple- emphasizing the journaling and the sweet, sweet photos! In the background I used the Dry Brushing with Distress Stains technique to create a little more interest- you can check out a tutorial HERE for how to create this effect!

My next layout is another sweet one! HAHA! Sorry I'm getting all gushy on you guys this month!

Awww.... look at us way back then! So young and in love! We still are so much in love... but the young part has faded a bit! LOL!

Check out these fabulous doilies! They're from Kaisercraft and there are two of them included in each kit! You're going to LOVE these- they're really big and make a big impact on a layout!

And check out the woodgrain "tiled" effect I got going on. I wanted to add a little bit more texture to the layout- really make it shine- but I didn't want to draw too much attention from the photo. I decided to take this really gorgeous woodgrain paper and cut it into strips that vary in length and width. Then, I just adhered them to my layout, creating this fun textured look! I really like how it turned out!

The journaling is special on this one, too- we'll be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary very soon and I wanted to record how I feel now. The journaling reads: On June 12, 2004 my whole life changed.... I was a 19 year old princess, whisked away to Germany. Looking back now, I realize that being whisked away wasn't the fairy tale I imagined- it was hard, I was homesick, and I was uncomfortable. But I can honestly say that I wouldn't change a bit of it. I've grown and learned so much over the past 8 years and I'm grateful for every second of it. True BLISS... True HAPPY.

Make sure you stop by Jinny's and Brenda's blogs tonight to see what they have made with the kit- they are scrapbooking superstars- you don't want to miss out on all the inspiration they have to share! And stop by the Neighborhood and the MSS blog for more details!

  6. Oh, Stephanie! Your journaling brought me to tears. TFS! I adore the way your inking, on the first layout, looks like woodgrain; and once again, those cut, woodgrain strips, on the second... Delish!
