Good morning!
I'm back today with a sneak peek of another set I designed for Market Street Stamps!
I'm truly IN LOVE with the set I'm sneaking today- it is perfect for so many occasions- a lot of them being the harder ones to make cards for. This set is full of sentiments and images that will work great for sympathy, get well, and thinking of you cards!
Introducing.... GROWTH!
So.... when creating this set, I wanted to include images that are generally calming and soothing. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to create this cattails image. I have very fond memories from my childhood of picking and burning cattails to keep the mosquitoes away while staying at the beach with my grandparents. They have a beach house on the Sassafras and I wanted to kind of recreate the silhouette of the cattails on the water. I LOVE how it turned out!
I started with a plain sheet of white cardstock and used a dry paintbrush to "paint" Distress Stains to create this scene. I started with Scattered Straw, making a circle in the center for the setting sun. I added some strokes across the top of the cardstock and down away from the sun to represent the reflection of the sun on the water. Then I added strokes of Weathered Wood and Broken China to represent the water. I went in around the "sun" with some pinks (Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick) and some orange (Spiced Marmalade) to create the sunset.
I trimmed that cardstock panel, stamped the cattail image, and colored in the cattails with a black marker to create a silhouette. Then, I matted it with a larger piece of white cardstock and adhered it to my card!
The sentiment, "Thinking of you" is also from the GROWTH set- I am so in love with that font!
I hope you guys are enjoying the sneak peeks so far! Make sure you run over to the
