Inspiration Station: BASICS!

HI!

Welcome to the latest installment of the INSPIRATION STATION!

This month, I'm going to share some of my favorite BASICS- tools, consumables- the stuff I use EVERY time I sit down at my desk! I've been through A LOT of tools over the years and I *think* I have found several tools that work great for me! Of course, I'm always open to suggestions... LOL!

Let's get started, shall we?

*03441 Fiskars PREMIUM CUT LINE Paper Trimmer 12 Inches

Fiskars Premium Cut Line Paper Trimmer

LOVE this trimmer. I've been through 4 different trimmers and this one's a keeper. I love the wide base- I rarely have to open the arm to cut, but if I do need to make a bigger cut- it's available! Cuts perfectly straight every time and even has a wire guide that shows you exactly where it's going to cut.

SCOR-BUDDY mini Scor-Pal scoring tablet - Click Image to Close

Scor-Buddy mini Scor-Pal scoring tablet

I LOVE Scor-Pal and I love the Scor-Buddy even more. The Scor-Buddy is PERFECT for card makers- it's a smaller version of the Scor-Pal- easy to tote around to crops and doesn't take up a lot of room on my desk!

EK Success Cutter Bee Precision-Cut Scissors

EK Success Cutter Bee Precision-Cut Scissors

These scissors are PERFECT for fine-detail cutting! They are super sharp and stay that way- they're my go-to pair of scissors for pretty much anything!

Scotch ATG

I was VERY hesitant to but thhis tape gun when everyone else seemed to be picking one up... honestly, I don't have a lot of SPACE and didn't want to clutter up my desk with a big ole tape runner. My hubby picked one up for me one day and I've never looked back! You can't beat the price of this tape, it holds really well, and the actual tape glider is easy and natural in my hand! LOVE it!

SCOR-TAPE 1/4"wide x 27 yds long, double sided adhesive - Click Image to Close

Scor-Tape

While we're talking about tape, who could go without some Scor-Tape?! I LOVE this stuff- it's perfect for the projects that need a little extra- a super strong hold! Great for 3D projects, ribbon, and even GLITTER. Yup, glitter sticks beautifully to this stuff and STAYS there! LOL! It comes in a variety of widths and even in sheets that you can cut to whatever shape you need- GREAT stuff!

Scotch Mounting Tape 1/2X75

Scotch Double-Sided Mounting Tape

Easy peasy, people! I pick this up at the grocery store- no special run to the craft store for dimensional tape. And it's CHEAP, too! Haha! This is what I use for foam tape and I love it! I've tried other "craft brand" tapes, but this one has always been my favorite!

Papertrey Ink Cardstock

Best cardstock I've ever cut into. Great quality, heavy cardstock, doesn't crack when you fold it, available in a TON of colors. Can't find anything that will even come close to meeting the quality of this stuff!

ink
a muse studio Ink

I LOVE these inks, folks! When I heard so many of my crafty friends raving about this ink, I knew I had to have it, too! I was referred to my consultant, Melissa Roell, by my good friend Laurie Willison and I got em all! I'm loving them SO much. They cover and stamp beautifully- a great, matte finish pigment ink! (Melissa is a DOLL, by the way! She's great if you have any a muse studio questions!!)

Memento Tuxedo Black<BR>Full Size Pad

Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink

This is my GO TO black ink! It's crisp and clear, works great with my Copic markers, and is completely water resistant when dry. I love this ink! I have a bunch of different colors, too- when I'm looking for super crisp stamping (not matte like with pigment inks), I turn to these!

Tim Holtz Distress Ink

These inks are really awesome and perfect for blending! They come in 36 colors (plus some seasonal special edition colors) and are beautiful for creating that rustic, vintage look that is so trendy right now! LOVE these inks!

*Tim Holtz DISTRESS Ink STAIN NEW LOT OF 25 Ranger

Tim Holtz Distress Stains

LOVE these- great for covering large areas with rich ink really quickly. I've done a lot of fun stuff with these- watercoloring, dry brushing, stamping, lots of stuff! Really great to add to your collection!

*Ranger Inkssentials INK BLENDING TOOL Applicator Foam IBT23616
Ink Blending Tool

I love this little tool for ink blending with Distress Inks- I've seen people use regular makeup sponges and things like that, but I really love the control you get using this tool- someday I'll have a tool for every color I have! LOL! Right now I just switch out the foam pads and that works just fine, too!

Market Street Stamps

Market Street Stamps

Guess what? I LOVE Market Street Stamps! LOL! Suprise, surprise, right? Anyways- they're awesome- great quality, peach-tinted stamps! TONS of stamps to choose from in a variety of styles- something for everyone!

Check out the retiring sets, too- get em while they're available because once they're gone, they're GONE! AND they're on sale- go get em!

How about a giveaway?!

I've got a few stamp sets from Market Street Stamps (Houndstooth, Make a Memory, and Neighborhood) as well as a Scor-Buddy and some Scor-Tape up for grabs! A prize valued at over $50!

  1. What a fun collection of tools! I love many of the same things - one other that I would add is my Zip Dry glue...so helpful for attaching something, and dries quickly enough for my short attention span!

  5. Many of your favorites are mine too!! I do have a favorite corner rounder, it is the corner chomper and the reason I love it is that you have 2 different sizes for rounded corners in one tool and you can cut thick things with it too!
