This set is FULL of stamps that are great to use on your homemade treats that you give as gifts! It's also perfect for dressing up recipe cards, bake sale tags, and fun things like this "Soup in a Jar" idea!
I had so much fun making this "Soup in a Jar" ensemble- it's perfect for a friend who's feeling under the weather or even for that friend that needs a pick-me-up!
Here's a close up of the card:
I pulled out the Studio Calico Memoir collection for this project- I LOVE the color scheme and the vintage country feel is perfect for this one! I paper pieced the pot with a piece of the more neutral patterns and inked it up with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink for a worn look! How cute is that sentiment??
And here's a close up of the tag hanging from the jar lid:
How country chic is that? Love it..... I die cut the tag and covered each side with patterned paper. then I added all these fun elements- a strip of coordinating patterned paper along the bottom, a printed title that I cut up and adhered with foam tape, that super SWEET apron stamp, and a hand drawn signature and hearts.
The tag is tied around the lid of the jar with satin ribbon that is attached to the tag with a fun button and some twine!
The denim was a last minute touch and totally completed the project for me! I have an old pair of jeans that I keep on hand for tearing up and using on crafty projects- go through your closet, I'm sure you've got a pair or two you could sacrifice for crafty projects, too! HAHA! I ripped a square off the leg of the jeans, inked em up really good with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and secured it in the lid of the jar! Such a cool rustic/country look!
For those interested: here is what I included in the jar! Directions are printed on the opposite side of the tag- super simple!
(You can add these into the jar in any order- it's all gonna be dumped in a pot anyway!)
1/2 cup lentils
2 tbsp dried onion flakes
1 1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon granules
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp dried dill
1/8 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp garlic powder
noodles to fill the jar
I hope you enjoyed my project tonight- I had so much fun making it! Make sure you check out the Market Street Stamps blog tonight for even more inspiration using the brand new Comfort Foods set! It's a MUST HAVE!

ReplyDeleteThat SC paper really gives this set a cozy feeling without being too earthy. Perfect choice. My favorite part is probably the way you stamped the apron on the tag. The watermark effect is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh what a great pick-me-up gift you made here, Steph! Love that "homey" paper you used for the card. The soup-in-a-jar is so cute, especially with that awesome tag and denim scrap! Hmmm, off to raid my closet now...
