Studio Calico PLANETARIUM Kits!

  Hi!

I'm here to share my cards that I made with the new Planetarium Kits from Studio Calico!

The kits are all up on the website HERE and there are still a few things left- don't miss 'em!

This card was made with supplies from the North Star Card Add-on!

These gold stars are going to be hoarded for a VERY special occasion, indeed! LOL! I fell head over heels for these pretty little stars!

The stamp set included in the North Star kit is absolutely gorgeous and SO versatile! I stamped the sentiment and then hung stars around it- very simple, but so sparkly and fun!

This card is a happy mix of elements from a couple of different kits! Sometimes I love to mix them all together and see what I can make!

The hexagon papers are cut from a piece of Simple Stories paper in the Lyra kit! LOVE the bold colors of that paper.

The transparent "Hi" tag is from the Planetarium Project Life kit.

The awesome star washi tape and the sequins (from the SC Atlantic Collection!) are from the Halley's Comet Project Life Add-On Kit!

I recently picked up the Peerless Transparent Watercolors in the shop and I knew that I wanted to use them to showcase this super cute sun digital cut!

I started by sweeping watercolor paint across a sheet of watercolor paper, overlapping oranges and yellows to create this fun sunshine-y design! Then, I cut out the sun with my Cameo and added it over the watercolor design with foam tape! Easy peasy and a really cool, fun look!

You can pick up the cut file HERE (Planetarium Weather Digital Cut Design)

Loving the soft pastel hues included in the Planetarium Card Kit this month, too! I created this fun "Wish you were here" card by cutting a circle out of the ombre dot paper and layering it over the pale pink constellation paper. I thought it looked cool to have the blue to green ombre (like sky to grass) and the constellation paper (like the stars in the sky!) as a backdrop for these sweet little houses!

The houses are from the Planetarium Home Digital Cut Designs (pick 'em up HERE) and they're oh so sweet! I cut them out with my Cameo, layered some white cardstock behind them, and doodled some black lines and dots. I adhered them with foam adhesive for a little dimension on my card!

Oh I LOVE all the nautical elements in the Planetarium Card kit! The stamp set totally ROCKS! I created this card by cutting a design of rectangles out using my Cameo. I laid the cut panel over a blank card and drew a faint pencil outline around the rectangles I wanted to stamp in. Then, I masked each rectangle individually and stamped the designs I wanted! Really love how it turned out!

I am seriously LOVING the twine in the kit, too- and you get plenty of it to use again and again!

See ya next time! :)

STUDIO CALICO SPENCER'S KITS!

Hey!

The Studio Calico Spencer's Kits have been REVEALED! And they're just about SOLD OUT- only the main scrapbook kit remains (pictured below)! I'm here today to share the cards I made with these gorgeous kits- hopefully you got one before they sold out!

Here they are! :)

The tags in the Spencer's Card Kit are so much fun to add as sentiments for quick and easy cards! This card came together really quickly with a little patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad, a tag, and an envelope that I cut into banner shapes!

Oh.... these digital designs are so much fun.... this awesome diagonal cut square is included in the Spencer's Card Base Cut Designs. I altered it a bit to have the square cut out in the center. I layered it with some awesome patterned papers from Add-On 2: Daily Grind! LOVE the way it turned out!

I kept it pretty clean and simple and added a few labels and a sentiment to finish it off!

This stamp (from Add-on 2: Daily Grind) is one of my all time favorites... so whimsical and cool! I stamped the cityscape on white cardstock and colored the pretty little buildings with Copic markers. I layered the cityscape with pretty papers from the Spencer's Card Kit 6x6 paper pad and added this sentiment using the alphas from the Spencer's Project Life Kit!

I am IN LOVE with this fun Lawn Fawn stamp set that comes in the Spencer's Card Kit this month! I stamped the large light bulb image on white cardstock and added some color with Copic markers. Then I heat embossed these fun rays around the light bulb. Ya gotta love that chalkboard paper- it's so cool!

This card features supplies only from the Card Kit Add-On: Americano! The papers in this add-on are AMAZING and even feature a fun neutral pattern on the other side! I love how rich and beautiful these patterns are!

The die cut banners included in this add-on are PERFECT for cards and make it so simple to create something when you're short on time!

I also used cut this fun ticket shape to layer behind the sentiment- it's included in the Spencer's Card Base Cut Designs!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! You can check out my full supply lists in the GALLERY!

Smooth Sea...

Hi there!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to the weekend! We're going to get working on some spring yard work and just relax and play with the boys- very low key... just what I want!

I'm here today to share a card I made with the Market Street Stamps set Dreaming of the Sea!

Here's my card:

I am absolutely IN LOVE with that sentiment... so true, right? I paired this fun sailboat image and nautical sentiment with patterned paper from the Studio Calico Sundrifter 6x6 Paper Pad- I thought it looked a little like waves!

I colored the sails of the sailboat with Copics and adhered it with foam adhesive for dimension. Really love the classic, beautiful images in this set!

Thanks so much for stopping by- I'll be back next week with all of my Studio Calico projects for April! WOOHOO!

Have a great weekend! :)

I Love You SO MUCH!

  Hi!

How's everyone doing this week?

We've been pretty busy around here lately with school, work, and the beginnings of baseball season! Both boys are playing this year- keeping up very busy, but we love it so much!

I have a fun card to share with you today featuring some fun stuff from the Studio Calico Snippets collection! I LOVE this collection so much- SO fun!

I had so much fun with this one! I really love this stamp set- Snippets Miss You So Much Stamp Set. The banner and sentiments were stamped with Hero Arts Navy Shadow Ink Midtone. One of my new FAVORITE inks.

I've been pairing navy and gold a lot lately- love the look of these colors together! I misted the super pretty Mister Huey's Gold with the Here & There V Pattern Mask- really fun effect- love that mist so much!

I thought it might be fun to mix it up with some gray and silver, too! LOVE these Snippets Die Cut Frames and, of course, I had to add some Satin Silver Sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My craft space AKA bedroom!

Hi! I'm very happy to show you all my little craft space today!
I shared this post on the Studio Calico blog on Wednesday and had a few questions about my space- I thought I'd share it here with some more detail. Hopefully this will help answer some questions you all had!

I do NOT have very much space to spare in my home, so I craft in the corner of my bedroom! Over the years, my space has grown and grown from that corner and you have NO idea how much I would love a space of my own! Haha! But for now, it's my little, happy corner of the house!

The first thing you'll notice is my bed in the bottom left corner and my husband's dresser to the right- LOL! This is very much my bedroom... you can craft from anywhere, people! :)

You'll also notice the lovely phone and headset sitting on my desk- I use this area for my day job, too! I'm currently working part time as a call center agent from home while I finish school- I spend A LOT of time at this desk! Haha!

I picked up my desk a few years back at Staples- super inexpensive, super practical. It does the job! And all of the white shelves and wall units are from Michael's- picked them all up when they were on sale or with a coupon!

Since my space is fairly small, I am really strict with myself about what I keep- if I don't have an immediate use for an item, it gets donated! My son's art teacher LOVES me... hehe...

I LOVE these wall shelves that I found at Michael's a couple of years back. They aren't exactly the same (the shelves are different), but they are just right for what I use them for. On the one to the left of my desk, I store ribbon, twine, washi, buttons, and some other miscellaneous things. Love how colorful and pretty everything is on the wall! And it makes it super easy to find things!

These shelves come with dowels for the ribbon, but I found that I can store more ribbon when they're stacked up like this and they're a lot easier to grab and use at my desk off the roll!

Ribbon makes me happy.... haha!

I also love the little wooden spools that I store extra twine and ribbon on- they were really inexpensive (I think I got them from Ribbon Carousel) and they are perfect for those little bunches of twine you can get!

I got the idea to store my buttons in these little jars from Dawn McVey! The jars are PERFECT for small embellishments like buttons and the lids are wide enough that you can easily dig through to find just what you want.

On top of the shelves to the left of my desk I have a carousel caddy that I keep markers, pens, scissors, and ribbon scraps in and an organizer for my "TO USE" products! This is the really fun stuff, folks! This is where I keep all the current kits for the month and any other products that I blog with for the month. It's the happiest spot in the room.... sigh.... makes me smile. Ha! Gotta love new stuff!

I picked up the carousel at Michael's (again, with a coupon!) and the aqua desk organizer is part of the Martha Stewart collection from Staples! I love this organizer because it holds12 x 12 paper perfectly and you can mix and match elements to get exactly what you want! Check em out: Martha Stewart Stack + Fit Desk Accessories

To the right of my desk is a shelf that is literally FULL of ink and markers... lol! I have *a little bit* of a problem when it comes to ink pads- gotta have them all! I also have my Copic markers, Distress markers, Distress Stains, Mister Huey's, and embossing powders up there! I reach for this shelf OFTEN!

A large majority of my inks are pigment inks from A Muse Studio. LOVE these inks and I have them ALL! They're perfect. The end. Melissa Roell is my consultant- she's AWESOME- check out her webstore HERE!

Hubby picked up these Copic marker containers a little while back- they fit perfectly on my shelf and hold 36 markers each. There are a lot of choices for marker cases in the Copic Marker store- here's a link to the one I have COPIC Original 36pc Empty Case.

I created these very helpful little color labels for my ink pads with coordinating cardstock- love the way they look all lined up in a row...

I keep all of my Project Life supplies in a basket that tucks in nicely under my desk. I very rarely work on Project Life at my desk because my desk is pretty small. Keeping the stuff in a basket makes it easy for me to tote out to the kitchen or living room to work on it!

I keep all of my page protectors in clear envelopes that are labelled with which design it is and a small sketch of what the page looks like. This has really helped me to use the pages that I don't reach for as often! I picked up the envelopes at Michael's- they were in the storage area where all of the shelves are. They are a little big bigger than 12x12 so they fit the page protectors perfectly! I think they came in a pack of 10 for about $6.

And above my desk I have a board where I display all of my projects for that month along with some family photos and notes from friends. I love looking up to see what I've made for the last release- so much fun!

I hope you all enjoyed the tour of my bedroom/office! Please let me know if you have any questions about how I organize anything!

Studio Calico Neverland Kits!

  Hey!

The Studio Calico Neverland Kits have been REVEALED! And they're SOLD OUT, folks! But I thought I'd share the cards I made with these gorgeous kits- hopefully you got one before they sold out!

Neverland Card Kit

Here they are! :)

I fell IN LOVE with this PRINTABLE! I knew I wanted to make it a large focal image on a card! After printing the HELLO sentiment on white cardstock, I chose some coordinating papers from the 6x6 paper pad and put together this clean and simple card! The twine in this kit is just beautiful, too!

This card was SO much fun to make! We had our own little "scraplift" challenge and I have the HONOR to lift one of Amber Kemp-Gerstel's designs! I fell in love with her "Falling Arrows" card in her Front Row gallery and decided to take some inspiration from it to make this card! Here's a LINK to her original design!

Oh my goodness.... these CUT FILES are AMAZING this month! I knew when I saw these circle labels that I had to make a card with one of them! I cut the LOVE circle label out with my Cameo and typed out "you" in Silhouette Studio and cut that out of one of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad.
And how AWESOME is that mist!? Gotta love a little mini huey's in your kit!

Oh how I LOVE the cityscape paper in the 6x6 paper pad that comes in the Neverland Card Kit! When I saw the cloud paper, I knew they needed to be paired together.... very simple, very modern... love the way this one turned out!
The sweet sentiment along the bottom are My Mind's Eye Tiny Word Stickers from Add-On 1: Tink!

I absolutely ADORE the Amy Tan Authentic Roller Stamp- and it's NOT just for Project Life! I used it on this fun card that would be great to give to a special little boy! Mine is going to my son!

I LOVED this image in my Project Life kit last month and I love it EVEN MORE this month because now it's a stamp and I can use it in so many different ways! One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE stamps- for real.
I started by heat embossing these beautiful falling stars onto a piece of Crate Paper DIY Shop paper (in Add-On 2: Lost Boys!). I didn't worry about shaking ALL of the excess powder off- I knew I wanted that gold dust effect on my card! I LOVE the way it came out- sort of magical and sparkly! I stamped the sentiment and moon and then popped up the moon for added dimension.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! You can check out my full supply lists in the GALLERY!

MSS: Dreaming of the Sea!

Hey, guys!
How's it going?

I'm here today with a card that has me dreaming of summer....
I'm LOVING the new sets released by Market Street Stamps this month!

All of the new sets are available NOW- run over and check them out!

Here's my card:

Ok- let's start with the background set- Nautical Stripe. It is beyond PERFECT, people. I love it to pieces... I stamped the background on Rustic Cream cardstock with Navy A Muse Studio ink. Then, while it was still a little wet, I sprinkled some Gold Filigree Detail Embossing Powder over it. I shook off any excess and heated it. What I got was a very delicate gold accent on my background! I really like how it came out!

I knew when I saw that mermaid in the Dreaming of the Sea set that I wanted to emboss her tail and make her all sparkly! I heat embossed the tail on a separate sheet of cardstock and cut it out. Then, I stamped the mermaid on Rustic Cream cardstock, colored her body and hair with Copics, and paper pieced her tail into place!

I love how soft and pliable these stamps are! I curved the sentiment "dreaming of the Sea" to match the curve of the mermaid tail!

Have you seen the new Market Street Stamps blog?! You should definitely run over and check it out- it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

See ya soon!
