Studio Calico Walden Project Life Kit!

  Hi guys!

The Studio Calico November kits are AVAILABLE NOW!

I'm here today to show you how I used the Walden Project Life Kit! I love the fall colors in this kit- and there are some really great embellishments this month!

That vellum tree card.... sigh... I'll show you how I used that tomorrow! LOVE it. Probably my favorite thing in the kit this month!

I used this kit to document a very stressful week in our house- we had our first broken bone! Aden lasted 8 years before breaking anything- I call that a success! We still have 1 more week with this cast. It's gross and needs to come off. For real.

I loved the yellow elements in this kit and pulled them out to pair with the greens and blues in the cards and photos. I created a card for the bottom right slot that coordinated using the awesome heart stamp in the kit and Sunny Day and Orange County inks!

LOVE that stamp! So fun!

Sorry to anyone who is squeamish... had to document what it looked like!

I'll be back tomorrow with another page I made!
Check out all of the Walden kits HERE!

LOVE the stamp in the Project Life kit this month! Such a funky heart design! I used it to create a fun background for my journaling.

And here's a peek at one of the digital cut files available this month! This "cozy" cut is from the Walden Cut Files by In A Creative Bubble!

The digital release is AVAILABLE NOW! Check it out HERE!

Studio Calico The Underground: Chicken Champ

Hey guys!

Hope you're having a great Monday!

I thought I'd pop in tonight to share another Project Life page that I created using the Studio Calico The Underground Project Life Kit!

Check out this beautiful kit!

Here's what I did with it:

I had some fun photos to play with for this week- we had lots of fun with friends (and CHICKENS!) at the end of August! Haha!

I LOVE this masking tape in the kit! It's absolutely perfect!

I love this little guy so much.... he was so determined to catch and pick up all of the chickens... and a duck!... at a friends house. What a little country boy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Don't miss these awesome kits!

Studio Calico The Underground Project Life Kit: Digital Stamp Brushes

It's here!

The Studio Calico The Underground Kits are available now! Check them out HERE!

I LOVE these kits! Beautiful fall colors!

Today, I wanted to show you a Project Life page I created using some of the Digital Stamp Brushes from Studio Calico. These Digital Stamp Brushes are a great value! Not only can you use them with photo editing software to create digital scrapbook pages, but you can also create cut files with them using Silhouette Studio! I'm going to show you how I did it!

http://tinyurl.com/obplsmn

First, create some 3x4 card cuts. Simply use the rectangle tool to draw a quick rectangle. Then, select the shape and adjust the size to 3x4 using the "Scale" tool.

Next, open the .png files in Silhouette Studio. Click file, open, make sure you have "All Files" selected for "Files of Type," and select the appropriate file you would like to open!

Select the "Trace Window," click "Select Trace Area," and drag an outline around the image. Unclick "High Pass Filter" so the entire shape will be cut out. Then, click "Trace." Delete the original .png file and you'll be left with the cut file!

I add my new cut files to my 3x4 card cuts and I have some fun cards to work with! I can either cut them out with patterned paper or do like I did today- cut them out with white cardstock and add accent patterns to peek through the negatives!

I had so much fun documenting Aden and Austin's first day of school with the Project Life The Underground Kit!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Check out the new KITS!
See you soon!

I fell head over heels for the colors in this kit! Here are a few sneaks of what I made:

So much to love!

I wanted to take a minute to let you guys know that I have taken a step back from card making for now. Because of my new teaching position and the amount of time it commands, I will no longer be contributing on the Card Creative Team.  I am very sad that I had to make this decision. The card kits are always SO inspiring (and the stamp sets have been killing it lately!), but I need to cut back and slim down my responsibilities. I will continue to contribute on the Project Life team, as documenting for my family is something that will always make a priority.
Thanks for all the card love over the past couple of years! I'm sure I'll still make cards when time allows- it was my first introduction to stamping so many years ago!

I hope to see you at the Subscriber Reveal Chat!
Have a great day!

Studio Calico Poet Society Reveal!

  Hi!

Hope you're all having a great weekend so far! I'm relaxing at home and it feels so good after a really long first week of school!

I'm here today with a card I made with supplies from the new Studio Calico Poet Society Kits! They're available now! You can see all the kits HERE.

http://tinyurl.com/oorpltk

One of my absolute favorite things from these kits is the Back to School Stamp Set Card Add-on! It was designed by Suzy Plantamura and it's just SO PERFECT! If your little one needs a little encouragement at back to school time- this is just what you need!

http://tinyurl.com/k7ncvev

How CUTE, right!? I love it!

When I saw that long script alphabet, I knew I wanted to create a background with it! Here's a peek at how I stamped my background:

1. Get a nice, big block and place the stamp. Ink it up- I used Versafine Onyx Black (it's my favorite!).

2. Stamp! I placed a piece of white copy paper under my card base so the excess stamp wouldn't stamp my table.

3. Repeat stamping all the way down the front of the card. I moved the stamp around to make sure that all the letters of the alphabet made it onto my card.

4. Embellish. When I was finished stamping my background, I added some patterned paper from the Poet Society Card Kit and a stamped a colored image from the Back to School Stamp Set!

Love the way it came out and it will be perfect to throw into Aden or Austin's lunchbox!

Stop by Studio Calico to see all of the kits- they're really awesome!
