Hi!
I had a lot of fun this month playing with the Studio Calico Sugar Rush kits! Today I'm going to share how I used the fun wood veneer shapes in the Sugar Rush Project Life kit.
I know we all have piles of wood veneer laying around! They're so fun to use in Project Life and on cards! And the natural wood color is perfect to use as it is! But sometimes it's fun to mix it up and alter them to coordinate with the other products you're using.
Here are some fun ways you can alter the wood veneer shapes:
1. Color them with markers! I had a lot of fun coloring the wood veneer with my Copic markers, blending the ink to create a fun ombre effect.
2. Mist them! Place a few shapes into an empty box and mist them with your favorite Mister Huey's colors!
3. Heat emboss them! Push the wood veneer onto a Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad, sprinkle the shape with embossing powder, and heat set with an embossing heat tool. It turns out really cool! I used gold embossing powder and the results look almost like gold foil!
You can see the colored wood veneer in the two photos of my boys- I used coral reds and aquas to really make these accents match the papers I used. I also heat embossed some of the pieces to add a little bit of gold to my page!
Give it a try! You'll love all the possibilities you have when you think outside the box!
