CAS-ual Fridays 57: Clear as day

Hi!

Happy Father's Day to the very few men that visit my blog! HAHA!

And happy "do everything for your husband/father day" to all the ladies!

I'm here with my card for the challenge from

cfc57

This week you have to use acetate or vellum on your projects! FUN!

Our sponsor this week is our very own Karolyn!

:

She has designed 6 beautiful stamp sets for Paper Smooches and she's offering up ALL OF THEM to our winner this week!

Here's my card:

I LOVE using vellum (and acetate) to layer different background and image elements. I started by stamping the grid pattern on a sheet of bright blue paper. Then, I heat embossed these polka dots on a sheet of vellum. I layered the vellum over the blue sheet and got this beautiful pale blue color and a really fun background pattern! I cut a quick frame out of black cardstock to hide the adhesive I used to attach the vellum!

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you head over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to check out the inspiration parade and play along!

I just LOVE these colors, don't you? They make me feel all warm and fuzzy! Haha!

I used this little birdie from the new Life is Beautiful set to create a little farm scene- I think he makes a cute little rooster!

The paper I used is from the Cosmo Cricket collection Tea for Two (it's also in the April Market Fresh Kit- Vintage Spring Market- STILL AVAILABLE!). LOVE it!

I hope you'll run over and check out the latest Paint the Town Challenge on the MSS blog! The designers really rocked this color combo!

CAS-UAL FRIDAYS 56: Sweet Spot

Hi, there!

Hope you're having a great and relaxing weekend!

I'm here with a card for the latest challenge from

 CFC56

This week you have to show us your awesome clean and simple projects using polka dots! FUN!

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Denami Design! The winner this week will win a $25 shopping spree!

http://denami.blogspot.com/

Denami was sweet enough to provide us all with some stamps to work with this week!
Here's what I made:

Oh my goodness- isn't that umbrella so stinkin' cute!? And the sentiment couldn't be more perfect! When I saw this stamp, I knew I wanted to use this sheet of paper from the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Collection! I cut out some of the clouds and adhered them with foam tape for dimension.

I colored the umbrella with Copics and then went in and added some white dots with my Signo Gel Pen!

Thanks for stopping by- I hope you'll run over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog and check out the challenge!

MSS BLOCK PARTY!

It's BLOCK PARTY time! I love this contest, guys! Always a flurry of activity over there on the Market Street Stamps blog after the new release! There are TWO fabulous prizes to be had so make sure you link up! (Psst... one of those prizes is a GUEST DESIGN TEAM spot!)

So here's what I made for the party!

My oh my... I'm LOVING these new sets from Kim Geiser! So much fun! For this one, I took some earthy colors and created this fun background pattern by repeatedly stamping the circle floral image and then going back in and adding some color with the flourishy floral image. SO fun! I used a muse studio inks for this- loving the matte finish of this inks! Today I used French Roast, Latte, Fern, and Squash. I blended some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink ink around the edges.

I let the sentiment stand alone- I think it finishes it off perfectly!

Make sure you run over and check out the Block Party this weekend- it only lasts until midnight Sunday! Don't miss it!

So... here's my sneak peek of the new set IMAGINE:

When I saw this BEAUTIFUL stamp, I knew two things: 1. I needed to get my Copics to that image! LOL! and 2. I had the PERFECT pictures to scrap! This is a picture of my sweet niece, Elaina. She is THE ocean princess- loves every second of being at the beach. She'll stand in the water and just look out at the horizon- totally just takes it all in and enjoys it to the fullest.

Journaling:
July 2011- Elaina Paige- BEACH
While all the others tip-toe up to the edge of the water and shriek at the ice cold temperature, you run in as far as we'll let you. You want to stand in the ocean with the sand between your toes for as long as you can. You're intrigued- CAPTIVATED by the waves.... a true ocean princess...

Here's a close up of that beautiful illustration... LOVE all the little details... so much fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by tonight! Don't miss the rest of the amazing projects from our design team- these girls are rock stars! Run over to the Market Street Stamps blog to have a look!
